Terms of service

Last updated 3 October 2026

Draft: this page is being finished before the service opens, and may change.

These terms are the agreement between you and [legal name] ("we") for using Cheque Tracker at chequetracker.com and app.chequetracker.com (the "service"). By creating an account or trying the demo, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What the service does

Cheque Tracker helps you keep track of the cheques you give and the cheques you receive: their dates, amounts and status, and who they're with. It keeps the records you enter and shows what needs doing. It doesn't move money, contact your bank or present cheques, and it isn't financial, legal or tax advice. Your bank's records are what count, so check dates, amounts and balances with your bank.

2. Your account

  • Use an email address you can read, and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Don't share your account or sign in as someone else.
  • You need to be at least 18 to create an account.

3. The free trial

  • A new account gets a free trial of 30 days with every feature. No card is needed.
  • There is one free trial per person. An account opened to get another trial, for example with a new email address, may get no trial, or have its trial ended. Addresses at throwaway-mail services get no trial.

4. Business

  • Business is paid in advance for the time you choose, at the price on our pricing page when you buy, plus applicable taxes. Payments are handled by Razorpay.
  • It starts when your payment is confirmed, or, if you still have time left, when that time ends. It doesn't renew by itself.
  • We may change prices for future purchases. Time you've already paid for keeps the price you paid.
  • Refunds are covered by our refunds and cancellations page.

5. The Free plan

When a trial or Business ends, your account moves to the Free plan. You can still see and export everything, move your cheques along, undo, and edit notes. Adding or changing anything else needs Business. Your data stays in your account on the Free plan.

6. The demo

The demo gives you a private account with made-up data for up to a day. It's deleted when you end it, or after a day. Please don't enter real information in it.

7. Your data

  • What you enter is yours. You let us store and process it only to run the service for you, as our privacy policy describes.
  • You can export everything at any time, and ask us to delete your account and everything in it.
  • You're responsible for having the right to enter what you record about other people, such as the parties you exchange cheques with.

8. Using the service fairly

  • Don't use the service to break the law, to store information you have no right to, or to harm anyone.
  • Don't try to get into other people's accounts or our systems, test their security without our written permission, overload the service, or get around its limits, such as those of the demo or the free trial.
  • Don't resell or rent out access to your account.

9. Keeping the service running

We work to keep the service available and your data safe, and we keep backups. Still, we can't promise it will never be interrupted or lose data, so keep exports of anything important. We may change and improve the service. If we take away something paying customers rely on, we'll tell you before we do.

10. Ending

  • You can stop using the service, and ask us to delete your account, at any time.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where we reasonably can. If we close an account that has paid time left for any other reason, we refund the unused time.
  • If we ever close the service, we'll tell you at least 60 days before, so you can export your data, and refund any paid time you can't use.

11. Liability

The service is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as a bounced cheque's charges or penalties, or a missed date, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before the change applies. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are settled by [courts].
